Urban Arts is having an impact on the community and its wonderful children!
Our preschool community enjoyed a fantastic potluck during Thanksgiving week! Throughout the month of November, United Arts Academy preschool students learned about Michael Jackson and his music, costumes, dancing, and more. At the potluck, students presented a Michael Jackson-inspired performance to their families, complete with white gloves, “microphones,” and stage props created by the children.
We, at Urban Arts Academy, want to thank all those who turned out for Cocktails for Urban Arts on November 5, 2015, to learn about and support our work. Click on a thumbnail to start the slide show.
ffThis Fall, Northern Clay Center (NCC) is excited to host Mexico City artist Isadora Cuellar in conjunction with NCC’s exhibition Out of the Labyrinth: Contemporary Mexican Ceramics, which runs from September 25 to November 8. Premier lifestyle retailer opens newest retail location at Galleria Edina in Edina, MN
SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Sundance, a premier lifestyle retailer of women’s and men’s apparel and footwear, jewelry, accessories, art and home decor, is excited to announce the opening of its newest store in Edina, MN. The store, located at Galleria Edina, will host the Grand Opening celebration on Thursday, September 17th 2015.
The opening of the Edina Sundance Store will mark the company’s first of two new retail locations east of the Rocky Mountains in 2015, growing from its western roots. CEO Matey Erdos comments, “We are excited to launch our next phase of retail expansion with the opening of Galleria Edina. With our growing and geographically diverse customer base, we could not be more pleased to be presenting our newest retail experience in the mid-west. We have a loyal following in theMinneapolis area who demonstrate a great affinity towards the Sundance brand. We are confident our new store in Galleria Edina will be a great success.”
The store design is artisan inspired, using reclaimed wood and artisan materials to promote the brand’s heritage. Erdos adds, “The Sundance vision embraces the spirit of creativity and fosters new discovery. Our Edina store will aesthetically further that vision in an original and captivating way.” One-of-a-kind pieces and items exclusive to Sundance will be the cornerstone of the product offering.
With its historical commitment to the artisan community, Sundance is donating a portion of the proceeds from the Grand Opening weekend to Urban Arts Academy, a Minnesota-based organization furthering youth art education. “It’s critical to provide support for local arts and artisans. We look forward to following the growth of the young artists in this community and to celebrate their inspiring creations of tomorrow,” says Erdos.
The company plans to continue its retail growth over the next several years with additional stores targeted across various locations nationwide.
